COVID-19 – A Message From Our Partners

UPDATED: March 24, 2020
Dear Friends:

We again hope this finds both you and your loved ones healthy and doing well during this time.

Our office is still open, but we have updated our firm policies and procedures due to South Dakota now having community spread of the Coronavirus. At this time, we will only be doing video or phone conferencing calls with clients, unless they are signing documents.

If clients are coming into the office, we are following all CDC guidelines. Our policies are available upon request.

South Dakota recently passed a law authorizing documents to be notarized remotely. We are hopeful that the law may be expanded to allow witnesses to appear remotely as well which would alleviate some roadblocks to signing estate planning and other legal documents during this challenging time. We will keep you posted as to any new developments in this area.

Please call our office at 605-275-5665 if you are needing to schedule a meeting, and we will make sure that it is convenient and comfortable for you.

Have a great day and stay safe.

All the Best,

Jayna & Bobbi

Dear Friends:

We hope this finds both you and your loved ones healthy and doing well during this time.

Because of our focus in Estate Planning and Elder Law, we are keenly aware of the risks of weakened immune systems and health complications. We want you to know that here at Legacy, we are currently updating our firm policies and procedures and have taken all possible precautions to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.  At this time, we are still seeing clients in our office, but we are practicing and promoting logical social distancing. We won’t greet you with a handshake or hug anymore, but we’ll still be giving friendly smiles!  Between every appointment, our team will spray and wipe down all conference rooms, public areas, and door handles. We are continuously sanitizing and cleaning our office and making sure we are all in good health.

We realize that this may not feel like enough for some people. So, we would like to offer an alternative to coming into the office for a meeting.  We have the ability to conduct a meeting virtually using Zoom, which is an Internet-based video conference service, or via FaceTime. We can have live video conversations from the comfort of your own home, and we’ll guide you through the process so it’s easy!  We also can arrange telephone conference calls.  We would like to offer all of our prospective and existing clients this option during this trying time.  Whether you have an existing appointment or want to schedule one, but are reluctant to come to the office in person, you may be interested in this alternative meeting option. Of course, if you are comfortable still meeting in person, we will keep everything scheduled as is.  Please call us 605-275-5665 to schedule a meeting that is convenient and comfortable for you.

If you know someone who is concerned about the health threat and is now thinking about getting their affairs in order, but they do not want to venture out of the house, we would be happy to conduct a video or phone conference with them too!

Thank you so much and we sincerely hope this alternative to caring for yourself and your loved ones provides you some peace of mind with no or minimal interruption of services.

We will get through this. We are all Americans. We always rise to the occasion.

Have a great day and stay safe.

All the Best,

Jayna & Bobbi
